A Short Day Trip to Linlithgow

The other day, we decided to get on the train and head to Linlithgow, a town about 30 miles east of Edinburgh to see the some palace ruins. By train it takes about 25-30 minutes to get there. Once you get off the train, you can see Linlithgow Palace so it’s not difficult for tourists like us.

Linlithgow Palace is most famous for being the birthplace of James V and Mary, Queen of Scots. The palace ruins are well-preserved and are a great place to wander around. The loch (lake/pond) next to the palace would be a great place to have a picnic when it’sย nice weather. It’s a beautiful place and a nice little trip to go on to get out of Edinburgh for a bit.
